They also destroyed Harry Potter toys which had been donated to them instead of donating them to needy kids or even giving them to another charity to donate because of the religious implications.

The school of logic. Lesson Two.

Your race, your sexuality, your gender, your religion, your hometown, your favorite sports team.

These things are certainly all important parts of who you are.  They are the makeup that constitutes your being.

However these things do not define you.

Above and beyond every single label you may wish to attach to yourself, above and beyond every other part of you that has been present since birth, there is one trait you possess which overrules them all.

You are a human.  

You are a human being and you exist upon the planet earth as a part of the human race.

The more you label yourself and seclude yourself into social groups comprised of people who share personality or sexuality or racial or any other common traits, the more you divide yourself from the human race.

We are all one tribe, we share the same beginning and we suffer the same end.

Together as one is the only way we will make the journey between our beginning and our end a more pleasant one.

Treat others as you wish to be treated.   Respect is the only law we truly need.

Welcome to the school of logic. My name is Professor Poole. This is lesson one.

I will gladly rid you of any moronic preconceived notions which may exist within your head.

Lets begin at the beginning shall we?

School is not hard.  Being an average teenager is not hard.  Doing homework, cleaning your room, listening to your parents, arguing with your friends?  These are not real life concerns.

And please spare me the sob stories.  If you’re reading this you’re most likely a middle to upper class kid with no real responsibilities.  You have a computer.  You have an internet connection.  You’re not starving to death in a desert fearing a terrorist attack may level your village while you sleep.  You have food to eat and you have a roof over your head.  

Public libraries are free and are within easy travel distance of practically every single town and city in this country.  You want a good education?  Go get a library card and educate yourself.  

Don’t tell me about crowded classrooms or apathetic teachers.  I don’t care about the pressure to be popular, to fit in or to wear the right sneakers.  If you want to learn then get your fucking game face on and learn.

I have absolutely no sympathy for any middle class white kid who wants to bitch about how tough their life is.  You don’t like your home life?  Leave.  Go live on the street in a major city.  Bus tickets are cheap and under the table jobs exist everywhere.   Find a way to make some cash.  Find some friends.  Get out and live the life you want to live.  You are the only one stopping you from doing anything you want to do.

Lower class minorities?  Yes, you do have it tougher, but guess what, bitching about having a tougher life isn’t going to make it easier.  Get the fuck out of your neighborhood if its filled with scumbags that want to drag you down.  Pick up a fucking book and read your way into a good school.  Break the cycle.  Make your kids life better than your life was.

I see a lot of “Only white people can be racist” type talk

“The oppressed can not oppress the oppressors”   Things of that sort.

And if you believe this sort of thing you are honestly a fucking moron.

Being a nerdy little white girl at a liberal arts school with a blog doesn’t give you the right to re-define words or defy logic entirely.

Black people can be racist.  Spanish people can be racist.  Asians can be racist.  

It is not a “white privilege” 

If a black person hates an Asian person because they are Asian, that black person is a racist.

If a Spanish person hates an Italian person because they are Italian, that Spanish person is a racist.

No matter how hard you try to deny this, you will never be correct.

I’m super proud of you for having all these “radical” ideas and I bet your professor really respects your bold and aggressive thinking.  I’m sure you’re going to save the world one day.  

But after you’ve saved it, there will still be people of all types hating people of other types simply for being different than them.  It is a human condition.

And no matter what color your skin is or what is between your legs 

We are all humans and we all must exist within the same rules of logic.
