Of all the things books have given me, there is one that stands above the rest

and that is a desire for more.

Not more material possessions, not even more love or more power

Just more life to live.  

It is a desperate longing which fills my very bones with a dull ache 

A bitter jealously burning deep in my soul 

A insatiable hunger for adventures I shall never live.

And it is this pain which makes me see why one may say 

it is indeed a pleasure to burn.
